Headquartered in Portland, Oregon Zurimedia incorporated in May of 2003. Seeking to bring to the book publishing sector a patent pending hosted online solution to bridge printed books with digital media and online opportunities, Zurimedia began to create a unique business method and system architecture in mid 2004. The beta product, Release 1.0, began testing in November of that same year. Release 1.1 was opened to the public in Fall of 2005.
